Udaipur

Udaipur is known as the ‘White City’ or ‘City of Lakes’. The drawcard of modern day Udaipur include the massive City Palace and Lake Pichola. It is on this lake that Jag Niwas Island, also known as the Lake Palace Island, is located.

Founded by Udai Singh II in 1559, it’s set around a series of artificial lakes and known for its lavish palaces. City Palace, overlooking Lake Pichola, is a monumental complex of 11 palaces famed for its intricate peacock mosaics.
